Mentorship

Maestra Mentorship is a six-month hybrid partnering program which connects mentees (18+) who are interested in pursuing a professional career in making music for the theatre with professional women and nonbinary mentors working in the industry.

The program is open to mentees who are prospective musical theater music directors, orchestrators, arrangers, conductors, copyists, composers, lyricists, instrumentalists, sound designers, electronic music programmers, and rehearsal pianists.The program is offered free of charge, and we welcome applicants from around the world.

Maestra is committed to ensuring a fair and equitable application process for all applicants. Each submission is carefully reviewed by a selection committee, composed of Maestra staff members and industry professionals from a range of fields, to bring varied perspectives and expertise to the evaluation process. Our team strives to uphold transparency and inclusivity, with every decision guided by our mission to empower women and nonbinary music makers in musical theatre.
