Biography

Megan Smythe is a pianist and music director from Long Island, New York. She is a graduate of Ithaca College where she studied piano performance and music education. Megan has music directed shows such as You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and The Drowsy Chaperone. She has also played for numerous shows such as Pippin, Mamma Mia!, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. 

Megan is an experienced educator who has worked with students from ages 3-18. She has taught piano lessons, general music classes, high school choral ensembles, and theatre classes throughout her career. In addition to her experience as a pianist, Megan has also studied voice and conducting.

Megan is also an experienced classical musician who loves collaborating with other musicians. She has performed in masterclasses with notable artists such as Kenneth Griffiths, Graham Johnson, and Kathy Kelly. During her time at Ithaca College, she participated in chamber music, jazz lab band, piano vocal duos, and piano instrumental duos. She also attended The Collaborative Piano Institute where she studied opera arias, art songs, and lyric diction.
