Biography

HOLLY DOUBET - conceptor/composer/lyricist/co-writer
Holly is a Dallas-based composer, songwriter, and performer with a rich musical lineage and deep Texas roots, descending from Native American ancestors who arrived via the Indian Removal Act of 1830. Her family’s musical heritage spans generations: her great-uncle played pedal steel and piano alongside Bob Wills for The Light Crust Doughboys, her parents contributed to the BBC music department in London, and her mother is an opera veteran turned celebrity vocal coach.

A classically trained pianist and vocalist, Holly studied at London’s Royal Academy of Music before double-majoring in piano and voice in the States. Her diverse career includes nearly two decades in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas music scenes as a studio singer, songwriter, and bandleader. After returning to Dallas to raise her family, she spent several years writing music for the hit children’s show Barney and Friends and earned a CableAce Award nomination for her media projects. Most recently, Holly wrote the book, music, and lyrics for her first musical, THIS IS NOT A DRILL, which completed a successful five-week Off-Broadway run at the York Theatre. She is currently developing a 10-episode children’s series featuring original stories and music, as well as her next major theatrical work.
