Gemma Hawkins

Biography

Gemma is a London-based Musical Director and Pianist. She is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music’s MD course, and studied Oboe & Piano at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama beforehand.

She has extensive professional experience, as Assistant MD for “Bridges of Madison County” (Menier Chocolate Factory), “Mary Poppins” and “Barnum” (UK Tours), “Fiddler on the Roof” (Chichester Festival Theatre) and “The Snowman” (West End).

Piano/ Keyboard credits include “Carousel” (Regent’s Park OAT), Deputy Keyboards for “The Book of Mormon” and “The Pajama Game” (West End), “Jersey Boys”, “The Lion King” and “Starlight Express” (UK Tours).

She has appeared in cabaret as MD for “The Girls From Oz”, and on oboe and vocals with “The Carpenters Story” (UK Tour).

She is currently the Associate Musical Director for “Moulin Rouge!” West End, and proud mum to her two little girls Hattie and Evie.
