Multi-instrumentalist Alexis Berry has been making music for as long as she can remember. She holds a degree in Viola Performance from Michigan State University’s College of Music, where she also studied piano. Since graduating in 2019, Alexis has performed with multiple theater companies around Michigan on both violin and viola, while maintaining her private strings studio in Ann Arbor. In addition to her classical studies and musical theatre experiences, Alexis can be found playing guitar or ukulele and singing. Alexis has spent multiple summers playing viola at the Bowdoin International Music Festival and has performed with Ray Chen and Michael Adelson, among others.
In addition to performing and teaching, Alexis also pursues musical ventures off stage including orchestral librarianship. She has worked as an orchestra librarian intern for the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center as well as maintaining the Head Librarian position at MSU’s College of Music orchestra library while she was an undergraduate.
Alexis’ recent theatre credits include Into the Woods, The Secret Garden, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Oklahoma!, and more.
