Biography
Brooke Sanders is from Nashville TN and an alumni of Berklee College of Music (c/o 2024) with a degree in Songwriting with minors in Musical Theater writing and Musical Theater conducting. Having written, directed and produced her original musical as a high school student, she has continued that passion through studying musical theater writing and musical theater conducting at Berklee. As a writer, she is a winner of the Curtain Up! contest for musical theater writing for her lyrics on "Okay" (composed by Nancy O'Conner). As a music director, she is experienced both piano conducting and stick conducting. She has music directed multiple shows at Boston University including Anastasia (2024), which she stick conducted, and Spring Awakening (2023). She'll also be music directing and stick conducting Curtain Up in April 2024, Berklee's premier contest for musical theater writing. She has won an honor from the Nashville Spotlight Awards as a music director for her work on "Freaky Friday" in 2019. She is also the president of the Berklee Broadway Band, a group on the Berklee/Boston Conservatory campus dedicated to providing students with the tools for the professional musical theater industry as orchestrators, music directors, copyists, pit musicians, and vocalists. She was the producer of Diary of a Payphone, an original song cycle put up at 54 Below in May 2023. She has also played piano in the pits for multiple musicals on the Berklee campus. As a pianist, she also earned a merit based scholarship covering half of her tuition for Berklee. She has also worked as an orchestrator and copyist for the Broadway Band and Curtain Up.
