Cat Barker

Biography

Cat Barker is a recent graduate of Indiana University with a BFA in Musical Theater and an individualized minor called Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies which combined American Studies, Gender studies, social justice, pop culture, and topics in music history. Some of her favorite musicals and the kind of work she is interested in pursuing include Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, Hadestown, and other titles like these. She is a bass player and played for multiple cabarets and musicals throughout her time at IU. As a musician, she has worked professionally for two summers at Cedar Point in Ohio where she sang and played bass in multiple bands. She also started her own band in college which played covers of pop/funk songs where she was the lead singer and bass player for the group. One of her favorite projects she worked on at school was a live recorded online video concert series which she self-produced with a grant she received from the honors college (here is the YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/@unmutedremastered/videos ) and she would love to continue this kind of interdisciplinary and genre-crossing work in New York.
