Jae Broderick

Biography

I am a writer, director, composer, actress, dancer, singer, tennis lover (vamos Rafa!) and avid traveler born in St. Catherine, Jamaica.

My work centers the voices of women and marginalized peoples with an emphasis on the immigrant experience. My adventures as an artist have taken me from pantomimes in the Caribbean to stages in Chicago, screens in Los Angeles and finally to New York City where I discovered a passion for directing and stumbled into the musical theater world.

My first musical, FORA, was selected to the New York Musical Festival and awarded a Eugene O'Neill Residency. My second musical, Speechless, is being developed in the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop where it was twice featured in the BMI Industry Showcase.

I am a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, Actors Equity Association, The Dramatists Guild, the BMI-Lehman Engel Musical Theater Advanced Workshop.
