Jane Best is a music director and music educator currently pursuing an MFA in Music Direction at the University of Montana in Missoula. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she received her bachelor’s degree in music education and worked as a middle school teacher before deciding to shift her career into theatre. She has worked in summerstock, non-union, and educational theatre in SC, NY, CA, PA, and MT.
This summer, she served as music director of Pippin, Bonnie and Clyde, and Mamma Mia at Summer Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa, California. Other recent music direction credits include Assassins at the University of Montana, The Drowsy Chaperone at Bristol Valley Theatre, Heathers at Queen Street Playhouse. She is currently writing on her first musical, Take a Chance, and has composed and arranged various choral and cabaret projects over the past few years.
