G. Victoria Campbell

Biography

G. Victoria Campbell (she/her) is a Seattle native, Indonesian-American female, and composer-lyricist and playwright. Her debut theatrical work, TREESON: AN ECO-MUSICAL (conceived in 2020), is an original new musical about what it means to find purpose in life amidst the climate crisis, the meaning of legacy, and the mark we want to leave behind when we depart from this world.

The TREESON Original Cast Recording demo concept album has been praised for its unique, fresh Americana soundscape. Industry comments include, “The score is incredibly dynamic, sophisticated and earthbound. Exceptional songwriting. An outstanding cast album!” (Joe Barros, Director of New York Theatre Barn) and “...It reminds me in some ways of HAIR...in the sense of how attractively listenable it is!” (Jack Viertel, Author of The Secret Life of the American Musical: How Broadway Shows Are Built).

Several songs from TREESON were selected for various global showcases. “Take Over” and “More” were performed by West End stars at London’s Union Theatre (Oct 2020), three songs were performed at Tin Pan Alley 2’s Concert Series (Feb 2021) and “More” was included in The Latest Draft Podcast’s Season 2 Finale cabaret show (April 2021).

Victoria has a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, a B.S. in Psychology, and a Minor in Music. She spent the majority of her professional career working in Human Resources and Consulting helping drive positive organizational change before pivoting to theatre during the 2020 Covid pandemic. Her dual background in psychology and music have informed the themes of her art, which focus on calling and purpose, collectivism and activism. She’s currently writing music for two albums, a sociopolitical folk album and an electro-pop-rock album. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild, BMI, Mercury Musical Developments, the MMD Lab II Cohort, and currently resides in Zürich, Switzerland.
