Biography

Musical Director, Composer and performer based in London, UK and Shanghai, China. Currently the Andrew Lloyd Webber Associate Musical Director at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London. Newest Chinese Musical (concept and music, arrangements and orchestration, and production) 'The Butterfly on the Bund 1939' (蝶变) premiered with a sold-out run at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, and is about to embark on a National Tour. Recent work include Feats and Defeats (Great Theatre of China), Growl (China National Tour), and No Longer Human (world premiere, Shanghai Grand Theatre). Graduate of MA Musical Direction from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and BA Linguistics from University College London majoring in Phonetics and Phonology. Particularly interested in developing bilingual work, working with composers/songwriters on new work, and actor-musicianship.
