Job Description
Seeking Hand Percussionist for a concert performance of “TREESON: AN ECO-MUSICAL” (www.treesonmusical.com) in Concert for Earth Day in New York City 4/22/24 at 54 Below. TREESON is a climate activism musical. Womxn, BIPOC and other under-represented folx encouraged to apply.
Percussionist must provide their own instruments. Need a djembe, cajon or another hand drum, plus also a combination of tambourine, claves, castanets, and/or shakers, etc. Would love to be able to mix it up with a few different hand instruments depending on the song.
Performance: 4/22/24, 9:30pm at 54 Below; Call-time 8:30pm; Sound check/tech 1-3pm.
Rehearsals: 4/20 and 4/21 (exact times TBD). 4/21 will be two full run-throughs.
Pay: $400
No drum charts exist, only basic piano/vocal sheet music with chords. But there are fully orchestrated demos of all the songs which have some interesting hand percussion parts baked into the midi orchestrations. Percussionist should be able to mimic / riff beats based on these recordings.
