Vanessa Porras

Vanessa Isabel Porras is a theatre artist based in New York City. Hailing from the East Bay Area, California, she moved to New York City for her Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from the Manhattan School of Music. While there, Vanessa was the Musical Theatre Representative in the Student Council and one of the founding members of their DEIA Committee. Her love of non-profits has led her to intern at The 52nd Street Project, where she continues to volunteer, followed by an internship at Maestra as an Administrative Assistant Intern. In the Fall of 2023, she was promoted to the permanent position of Administrative Assistant at Maestra. As a first-generation Nicaraguan American, amplifying Latine storytellers by creating a more equitable space in the theatre is an integral part of the work she wants to continue to do.
