Elizabeth Salem

Elizabeth Salem is the founder of Salem Productions, a Tony-nominated commercial theater production company established in 2024, with producing and investing experience across Broadway, the West End, Off-Broadway, and regional theaters. While she values work that is both commercially and critically recognized, Elizabeth is particularly committed to the development of new plays and musicals, and to partnering with writers, composers, and producing organizations to bring meaningful stories to audiences in financially sustainable ways. Central to this work is her belief in expanding equitable access to the rooms, orchestra pits, and creative spaces where music and theater are made and discussed, for the benefit of both artists and the art itself. A graduate of Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Music, Elizabeth began her career as a professional performer (AEA, SAG-AFTRA) before stepping away from the industry to raise her family. She has since returned with a renewed focus on thoughtful philanthropy and strengthening the cultural institutions that nurture artistic excellence. Elizabeth is an alumna of the Commercial Theater Institute and currently serves on the boards of Westport Country Playhouse and Maestra.
