Zilu Chen
Biography
Zilu is a film composer originally from China and currently pursuing an MM degree in Music Composition: Screen scoring at New York University. She was trained in traditional Chinese zither since the age of 6 and later studied Western music curriculum during undergraduate study at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
She has studied music technology with Guerino Mazzola, composition with Paul Chihara, Michael Patterson, Sean Friar, Zither (Guzheng) with Sha Lijing, and Zither (Guqin) masterclass with Yang Qing.
Her music style has been influenced by traditional Chinese, western classical, Jazz, Hip-hop, etc.
Besides doing music, she is also an enthusiastic dancer with a strong interest in Hip-hop, urban and contemporary dances.
