Yunhye Park
Biography
Yunhye Park is a playwright/lyricist/dramaturg/director who was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea and resides in New York City. She holds a BA in Theatre Studies and a MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from Korea National University of Arts. And she’s doing her second MFA in the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU Tisch.
She has written numerous works for the stage, including Woyzeck in the Dark (with Soohyeon Her; performed at Link Arts Center in 2023), Blue-gray Night (with Jinha Kim; performed at Dream Arts Center in 2022), La Resistenza (with Jiseon Lee; performed at Gimpo Art Hall in 2022), and Tomorrow, by the Sea (Performed in 2018, 2021, 2023). Her works have been developed at Arts Council Korea, Korea Creative Content Agency, CJ Cultural Foundation, and Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture.
She received the 2019 ARKO Selection New Musical Play Prize for her original musical Trinity. She’s also the recipient of 21st New Play Festival Prize and Global Musical Live Fellowship in Korea.
