Biography

Yu OKUDA is a Tokyo based Composer, Arranger, Music Director, Bandleader, and Pianist who mainly composes for theatre. She is the Founder and President of Onpuma Musical Theatre Workshop.

Some of her Composer credits include:
Avidya: No Lights Inn which won Japan Cultural Affairs Agency Arts Festival Excellence Award in 2016, commissioned by Niwa Gekidan Penino. It was performed in Japan, Germany, the US, Nederland, Denmark, Australia and France.
Wataru’s innocent marriage hunting the Musical which commissioned by Umeda Arts Theater Co.,Ltd.
Octopus Monks: Ritual of Forgetting which commissioned by Niwagekidan Penino.
Rhapsody on Kumamoto folksongs “Yoheho-bushi” and “The Lullaby of Itsuki” for violin and shamisen which commissioned by NIPPON STEEL Arts Foundation.
