Xinru Li

Biography

Originally from Chicago, Xinru recently relocated to Seattle, WA after graduating with honors in music at Brown University. While in school, Xinru conducted the musicals Ragtime, Candide, and Sweeney Todd. Xinru's honor's thesis, Orchestra, Deconstructed - is an experimental music exhibit where Xinru conducted and 1:1 recorded a full orchestra playing pieces by living female composers and rearranged the recordings into a space with motion sensors to allow participants to experience what it feels like to play in an orchestra. Xinru currently plays viola in the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra, and previously played in Brown University Orchestra and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras.
