Wesley Hornpetrie
Biography
Hi! Wesley here. I'm a collaborative cellist specializing in theatre/opera/musical theatre productions, living in the Washington D.C. region. In my 22-2023 season, I performed operas including Don Giovanni, La Boheme, and Missy Mazzoli's Proving Up. Most recent musical theatre performances include Fun Home, Into the Woods, and Secret Garden. In 2022, I was the cellist/actor in D.C.'s 4 month run of The Queen's Ball: A Bridgerton Experience. In 2022, I was featured on GRAMMY nominated album John Luther Adam's Sila: Breath of the World, and I've recently performed, collaborated with, and recorded with JACK quartet, Roomful of Teeth, and International Contemporary Ensemble.
On any given day, you'll see me rehearsing in a theatre or recording studio, performing with a singer-songwriter, playing a string quartet, or something completely different. I have over 15 years of experience in the pit, and very much love it! I've performed with Opera in the Ozarks, Encore Theatre, University of Maryland Opera Studio, Oklahoma City University Musical Theatre and Opera productions, and the University of Michigan Musical Theatre and Opera Productions.
