Wendy Jo Wheeler

Wendy Jo Wheeler

Biography

Wendy Wheeler has been teaching voice and piano for over 20 years. Wendy holds a BA in vocal music from Saginaw Valley State University and earned a Master of Music in Education and Vocal Performance from Western Michigan University. Wendy's resume includes a variety of educational programs, theater work in many venues, and private vocal instruction for various music schools and colleges, and her own private studio. With a focus on theater education, she enjoys working on youth musical theater productions, and has been involved with the national program The Penguin Project, which gives the opportunity for differently abled youth to perform on stage. She is an alumni member of the music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota.

Coming from a firm foundation of vocal technique and vocal performance, Wendy works with each student to grow their abilities to meet their individual goals. Current and past students have been actively involved with school and community theater productions, as well as school choral programs, and several have gone on to pursue music education or performance in college. It is a great joy for Wendy to pass along the knowledge and expertise she received from amazing mentors to a new generation of performers!
