Biography
Hi!! I am a recent graduate from Denison University taking a gap year to work in NYC at a production company! I am enrolled in an MFA program - to begin Sept 2024 - at the European Academy of Fine Arts through The Conducting Institute. The full program title is "Master of Fine Arts in Classical, Studio, Contemporary Conducting and Related Recording Technologies." I love collaborating with - and learning from - other open minded creatives to devise equitable and accessible art.
I grew up a classically trained violinist, and was active in community and school orchestras and theatre departments throughout high school. In college, while majoring in Communications, I continued with private lessons and orchestra, but also began taking conducting lessons, composition lessons and seminars, stage managing, and playwriting, as a double minor in Music and Theatre. Taking an interdisciplinary focus, my work lies at the intersection of Communications, media, and the arts; a rich discursive site that has helped me navigate the shifting topography of the spaces we occupy, while also developing as a musician, conductor, composer, and writer. I have challenged and confounded myself in working through my score studies and practice, and, while I know I have a long way to go, I am deeply committed to improving each day. This work drives me, and I remain a devoted student of the score and the rehearsal. This is where intentions are set, and music is made, discovered, and refined to be shared with the world.
