Tina Lama

Biography

Tina is a bassist living in Queens, NY. She has experience with many genres from jazz to classical, from pop to bluegrass. She has enjoyed success touring and recording with the Emmy-nominated bluegrass/hip-hop band Gangstagrass, whose 2020 album “No Time For Enemies” reached no. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Charts. She has had the good fortune to tour and release two albums with her jazz trio, The Red Birds, as well as tour and record with Jan Bell and The Maybelles (Bluegrass/Americana).

Tina has subbed for Shucked the Musical (bass, Broadway), and Stranger Sings (bass, Off-Broadway). She has also performed in the pit with a number of theatre groups throughout New York State. Shows include: Matilda, The Addams Family, Jesus Christ Superstar and Fame.

Tina has a Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance from Queens College. In addition to bass, she plays guitar and ukulele.
