Biography

Known for her advanced sight-singing skills and vocal arranging, Sofie Zamchick is a singer/songwriter, actor, multi-instrumentalist, and music teacher based in NYC.

With a voice that "flutters between sweet and salty" (Kara Manning) and "a characterizable innocence to her sound” (Buzz Music), Sofie’s songs are dreamy, honest, and heartfelt. Sofie has released two EPs "So This is Goodbye" and "Until We Meet” on all music platforms. Named one of "10 NYC Artists to Watch” by WFUV, Sofie was selected to play on the NPR Tiny Desk Tour in 2019, chosen to participate in the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project and Resonance Honeywell Arts Workshop, and frequently plays gigs on VibeKAT, piano, and guitar with her band around NYC.

An actor and voiceover artist since childhood, selected credits include: Linny in Nick Jr.'s "The Wonder Pets," Disney's "Enchanted," PBS's "Clifford,” Fisher Price’s Linkimals toy “Counting Koala,” soloist on Kidz Bop albums 10-28, Nick Jr.'s "Abby Hatcher" soundalike, and numerous tv/radio spots for Nexplanon, Dannon, Duane Reade, Colgate, Fanta, Monster.com, Play Doh, and more. Sofie's also acted and sang in art films “The Rape of the Sabine Women” and “89 Seconds at Alcazar” by Eve Sussman and “Cremaster III” by Matthew Barney.

Sofie runs a private teaching studio in NYC, coaching kids ages 7-18 in voice, acting, piano, guitar, and songwriting. She was also head of the vocal department at the Elisabeth Morrow School in NJ for four years.

Sofie is a graduate of NYU Tisch's Experimental Theatre Wing for acting and Juilliard Pre-College for percussion.
