Sofía Kherroubi García
Sofía is a young musical director stepping into the UK's musical theatre industry. Currently based in Glasgow, Scotland, Sofía started her musical education in her home country of Spain. She completed her professional diploma in Classical Piano in 2017 at Barcelona's Conservatori Liceu on the junior's programme. She later completed a BA in Drama and Music at Royal Holloway, University of London, and a PGDip in Musical Directing at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Her professional debut was with Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum Theatre, as Composer & MD for the brand new Young Company's production of Seven Against Edinburgh. One of her proudest achievements, the play with songs was a contemporary take on 19th century feminism, featuring a cast of female and non-binary actor musicians at the start of their careers.
Sofía then worked with Wonder Fools as MD for their Scottish tour production of 549: Scots of the Spanish Civil War, a beautiful musical that was close to Sofía's heart for its cultural and political ties to the history of Spain.
Currently working at Largs Youth Theatre as resident MD, Sofía continues to work with the Lyceum for other musical projects and workshops, and as a keyboardist/pianist for musical productions and events.
