Biography
Sarah is a drummer/percussionist originally from CA and have been in NYC for almost 10 years now. She is fluent in a variety of styles including Musical Theatre, rock, jazz, r&b/hip-hop, Afro-Cuban/Brazilian and Classical. For the past 2 years she performed as a theatre musician on the Norwegian Breakaway for The Broadway musicals Six and Burn The Floor. She has performed as a first call marimba 1/pit percussion sub for the North American Tour of the Lion King Musical for the last 7 years. She has played in various cabarets at the Green Room 42 and 54 Below in New York City, as well as many community and regional theatres in the LA and New York areas. She has also recorded with artists such as Morgan James, Derek Klena, Taylor Louderman, Constantine Maroulis, and many more.
Sarah started playing percussion at the age of 11, singing at age 2, and playing piano at age 8. She received her Bachelors in Percussion Performance from California State University Northridge. She has been teaching privately for more than 15 years and have prepared students for important competitions and recitals; some winning those competitions. She also teaches djembe classes in schools in all 5 boroughs of New York. She has experience being a drumline tech and pit tech for schools in both California and New Jersey. She is very comfortable teaching in both a private and group setting in drums/percussion, voice, and piano.
