Biography
Sarah Boxmeyer is a freelance French horn player and educator based in New York City. A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and Yale School of Music, she has had success in the orchestral world as well as on Broadway. After auditioning for and winning a job with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra, Sarah was offered a job in the orchestra of King Kong on Broadway. Most recently, Sarah was the horn player at Sweeney Todd and is currently in the orchestra at Pirates! The Penzance Musical.
Since moving to New York City, she has been a substitute musician in the pit of multiple Broadway productions including Phantom of the Opera, Aladdin, Into the Woods, Lion King, and Gypsy. She has also worked with the New York City Ballet, American Symphony Orchestra, American Ballet Theater, the Knights, the New York Pops, Princeton Symphony Orchestra, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, among other ensembles. Recently making her Madison Square Garden debut in the orchestra accompanying Andrea Bocelli, she feels lucky to have the opportunity to perform in a variety of venues around the world. Sarah has recorded with multiple ensembles, most recently with the Knights and Edgar Meyer.
Sarah has also been featured on NPR's Tiny Desk concert series with featured members of the Sweeney Todd cast and orchestra.
