Pippa Griffin

Biography

Pippa is a musician from London, beginning violin lessons at the age of five she soon developed her passion for music, going on to join many orchestras and eventually leading the Townley Symphony Orchestra and Bexley Youth Orchestra when she was seventeen. During her time in the Bexley Music Service at Bird College, Pippa toured across Europe and has performed in venues from the Royal Festival Hall in London to St. Mark’s Cathedral in Venice and performed with the renowned London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sir Simon Rattle in Trafalgar Square.

Pippa has a First Class Honours in BMus Music Performance (Classical Violin) from the London College of Music, where she also achieved a Diploma in Conducting. She is experienced in a range of genres, including solo and orchestral repertoire, musical theatre, pop and chamber. She currently performs in Symphony Orchestras around London, regularly plays in the London Musical Theatre Orchestra Sitz Workshops and also played in the London College of Music’s Orchestra and String Ensemble whilst completing her degree.

Pippa regularly performs in bands and orchestras for musicals on the Violin, Viola and Bass Guitar. Recent shows include Legally Blonde (Violin), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Viola) and Pippin (Bass Guitar) She also performs and records with her string quartet, Belle Quartet, who are currently recording their first EP, ‘Originals’.

As a Session Musician, Pippa takes part in a lot of recording sessions, including the Official Album for the Musical ‘Driven’ by Archer and Redica, and has recorded in Abbey Road Studios for groups such as Novelty Island, whose album was released in March 2023 and has also recorded a music video at the Asylum Chapel.

As an Arranger and Musical Director, Pippa created ‘Musicians behind the Musicals’ where she wrote instrumental arrangements of many musical theatre tunes for a large theatre band. Combining her passion for arranging, performing and recording, Pippa creates music videos which she shares across her social media platforms.
