Biography
Paloma Sierra (she/her) is a writer-director who crafts narratives, musicals, and poetry for theater and film. Her work across stage and film has earned her a U.S. Fulbright scholarship, an appointment as the first Emerging Poet Laureate of Allegheny County, and recognition from the Dramatists Guild of America and the Writers Guild Foundation. She has developed new plays, musicals, and spoken word with Jermyn Street Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, New Hazlett Theater, and Conch Shell Productions. Her videopoem “I Am Soil Breaking Off” received international acclaim, winning the inaugural ¡Tú Cuentas! Cine Youth Festival Grand Prize. She holds an MFA and BHA from Carnegie Mellon University.
