Biography
Nancy Hill Cobb is a composer and conductor who spent 44 years as a professor and administrator in universities around the country. Her full-length musical, The Suffragist (book and lyrics by Cavan Hallman), was premiered in July 2021 at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Starring in The Suffragist were Nancy Opel, Cathryn Wake, MaKayala McDonald and Joel Waggoner. Cobb’s compositions are performed across the United States and around the world. 2023 premieres were with Orchestra Iowa (Shades and Illumination), and the Ohio State Men’s Glee Club (“The Dawn’s Awake”). A 2024 premiere, “Jubilant,” was held at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa.
