Miyako Tsubota

Biography

Born in Tokyo. She started musical theater training at the age of seven in a children's theater company. Graduated from Kunitachi College of Music with a specialization in vocal music and Berklee College of Music with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production. While at Berklee, she was involved in a wide range of activities including dance captain, direction, and creation. She is a member of the Children's Theater Company Big Dream Play. Major works include Avenue Q, Pirate of Penzance, and By the Breath of Southern Fire. She is a certified music teacher for junior and senior high schools. Currently, she is running consulting company FOR ME NY in both NY and Japan. Its mission is Shifting Perspectives and Cultural Norms Through Performing Arts.
