Maria Vincelette is a woodwind doubler from Peru, New York and has recently graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in music performance and business administration and management. Maria primarily studied clarinet/bass clarinet with Dr. Richard Faria and was heavily involved in the IC Jazz program with Professor Michael Titlebaum. Maria has performed in the Ithaca College Concert Band, Campus Band, Jazz Lab Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Repertoire Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Musical Pit Ensembles and many various classical and jazz chamber groups/combos. Of these small groups, there were various instrumentations including reed/woodwind quintets, trios, string chamber ensembles, a woodwind doubling quartet, clarinet ensembles and jazz combos in which she performed as the featured soloist on clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano saxophone, alto saxophone and tenor saxophone. Within the greater Ithaca area, Maria has been a popular call to fill stylistically diverse woodwind doubling jobs in musicals, jazz bands and weddings. Aside from her experiences performing, she has also been a private teacher on various clarinets and saxophones, both on Zoom and in-person. She continues to be a strong advocate for young female musicians, especially in the world of jazz through her own private teachings/studies, but also through her work within the Women in Jazz Organization based in New York City.
