Biography

Lori Casteel is a music copyist, vocalist and contractor. With over 30 years experience she has worked on Broadway, Off Broadway, regional theater, films, recordings and live events. Recent projects of note include In the Heights (Feature film - copyist), Tick Tick Boom (Feature Film - copyist), The Greatest Showman (Feature Film - copyist), Getting the Band Back Together (Broadway - copyist), Smokey Joe’s Café Revival (Off Broadway - copyist) Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (Broadway - copyist), The Last Ship (Broadway, UK Tour, Toronto - copyist). Regional credits include A Walk on the Moon (ACT, San Francisco - copyist, vocal transcriptions); Hood: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure (Dallas Theater Center - copyist). Artist clients include Sting, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Leslie Odom, Jr., Renée Fleming, Panic! At the Disco and many others. Lori also typeset all licensing materials for Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (2020), Mary Poppins, Freaky Friday, Les Misérables (Licensing version, Student Edition), and the most recent Piano/Conductor Score for West Side Story (Licensing version, Student Edition). In addition to her music preparation work, Lori Casteel is a vocalist and contractor specializing in educational and theatrical recordings. With over 25 years experience, she served as an Associate Producer for McGraw-Hill’s Spotlight on Music. She contracts Broadway Jr. recordings produced by MTI, Disney Theatrical, Hal Leonard and others, and coordinates all aspects of the vocal talent including teaching the music and leading the vocal sessions. Voice credits: “Junie B. Jones” (Junie B Jones: First Ever Musical Edition), “Kala” (Disney’s Tarzan licensing recording), “Bella” (Tweenies). An advocate for music for all, Lori volunteers at the TN School for the Blind coordinating regular musical performances for the very special LifeSkills class. She lives in Nashville, TN with her husband and fellow copyist of 31 years, Mike, and their son Emmett. Their daughter, Reagan is a graduate of Eastman School of Music and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Vocal Coaching at OCU.
