Biography
A recent graduate of Wesleyan University (Class of '26), Lola Cortex received High Honors in Music and the Gwen Livingston Pokora Prize for Outstanding Composition for her original musical adaptation of Banana Fish. The full length musical played to three sold-out houses at the '92 Theater and was called a "tour de force of orchestration" by the Wesleyan Argus. Classically trained in piano and a jazz vocals, Cortez writes across genres with a focus on theatrical storytelling.
