Biography
Lily Stewart is a harpist based in New York City and Nashville, TN, known for her experience in classical, contemporary, and cross-genre music. She is currently a third-year studying at NYU under acclaimed harpist Brandee Younger, following five years at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music Precollege Program, where she studied under Kirsten Agresta-Copely and Paula Bressman. At Blair, she was awarded the prestigious Myra Jackson Blair Scholarship, the highest honor for pre-college musicians
A finalist in multiple concerto competitions– including the Curb Youth Symphony Concerto Competition, the Nashville Philharmonic Concerto Competition, and the Eastern Music Festival Concerto Competition. She made her European solo debut in February 2024 in Prague, Czech Republic, Performing a varied repertoire that showcases her range and technical mastery. She made her NYC solo debut with the New York University Orchestra in 2025, performing Ennanga by William Grant Still. In addition to her classical work, Lily has performed in genres spanning silent film scores, video game music, film soundtracks, Broadway musicals, and pop.
On top of her musical pursuits, she is a double-major at NYU with a Bachelor of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders (Neurolinguistics). She is also a Research Assistant at NYU’s Communication, Mind, and Memory (CoMM) Lab. In her free time, she likes to sing at the piano, travel, bother her dog, and write.
