Lexi Vollero

Maestra Classes Offered

Lexi Vollero

Lexi Vollero is a composer, lyricist, arranger, and multi-instrumental performer. She is currently working as a music assistant, composer's assistant, and Ableton programming assistant with PatchMaster Productions.

In addition to her theatrical work, Lexi writes, arranges, produces, and performs her own musical blend of R&B/soul-pop for her artist project. Her debut EP "growing pains" (March 2024) showcases her unique sound and nuanced explorations of life and music. She experiments in her performance with piano, viola, and guitar, and integration of electronic elements, as well as the addition of original lyrics in Portuguese.

Lexi’s art is grounded in accessibility, and she seeks to bring new audiences into theaters through collaborative projects that explore fresh genres and narratives. Her advocacy for equity extends into her work with Maestra (as the former blog-runner, -writer, and programming committee member), We Are Moving The Needle, and more.

She also enjoys work as a bookwriter, orchestrator, copyist, and music journalist. Her musical studies are concentrated in a combination of music theater development, vocal performance, and jazz studies. She has trained as a vocalist in classical and jazz traditions, including improvisation and pedagogy, and a violist as a soloist, chamber musician, ensemble player, and gig performer.

She has worked as a journalist/digital content strategist across a variety of sources, including Entertainment Weekly, Snap Inc., Bipty, and BerkleeNYC. You can find her workshop on SEO Writing in the Maestra VTW on-demand library.

She graduated with BerkleeNYC’s inaugural class in July 2022 with a M.A. in Creative Media and Technology: Writing and Design for Musical Theater and completed her Post-Master's Fellowship in July 2023. Additionally, she earned a B.S. in Journalism, a B.A. in Music (titled "Jazz and Music Theatre Development Studies"), and a minor in Spanish from Northwestern University in June 2020.

She is currently co-writing, -arranging, and -orchestrating a new musical “A Great Day in Harlem '' with Dionne Hendrick and is open to connecting and collaborating on a variety of new work!
