Biography

Lexi Vollero is a composer, lyricist, arranger, and multi-instrumental performer.

She primarily works as a playback engineer for PatchMaster Productions (Ableton, Logic, Mainstage, QLab, Protools), music assistant (Finale, Sibelius, Dorico, MuseScore), composer's assistant, and copyist. She co-writing original musicals with Dionne Hendricks and open to collaboration on new projects.

In addition to her theatrical work, Lexi writes, arranges, produces, and performs original soul-pop/R&B for her artist project. She experiments in her performance with piano, viola, and guitar, and integration of electronic elements, as well as the addition of original lyrics in Portuguese. She also enjoys arranging/producing vocals and strings for others.

Lexi hopes to bring her skills to a variety of commercial projects across the music industry. Her art seeks to bring new audiences into theaters through collaborative projects that explore fresh genres and narratives using her uniquely-integrated creative and music tech skills.

Her work is grounded in accessibility, and her advocacy for equity extends into her work with Maestra (as the former blog-runner, -writer, and programming committee member), We Are Moving The Needle, and more.

She has an M.A. in Creative Media and Technology from BerkleeNYC concentrated in Writing and Production for Musical Theatre with extended Post-Master's fellowship work in Songwriting and Production, and a B.S. from Northwestern University with Music and Journalism majors.

Her musical studies range from contemporary music writing, recording, and producing to musical theater writing and development to classical pedagogy to jazz improvisation. She has trained as a classical and jazz vocalist, and a solo, chamber, and ensemble violist. She is building off these foundations to explore her own sound.

She has also worked as a journalist/digital content strategist across a variety of sources, including Entertainment Weekly, Snap Inc., Bipty, and BerkleeNYC. You can find her workshop on SEO Writing in the Maestra VTW on-demand library.
