  • Biography

    Born into a musical family, Laura began her multi-instrumentalist career at the age of 3 with piano, before continuing on to clarinet, saxophone, flute and oboe participating in numerous in school and state-wide ensembles. She holds her Bachelor of Music Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Laura has received numerous performance opportunities including an international tour to Spain for the WASBE conference, participating in the Sydney Con International Jazz Festival, a residency at Foundry 616. In 2020, she was the recipient of the Harry Harmon Memorial award.

    Working as a commercial woodwind specialist, recent credits including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, An American in Paris, ReWired by Hayes Theatre and depping on Moulin Rouge! The Musical. The remainder of 2023 has some other exciting projects in store!

    Outside the theatre scene, Laura is an active performer in various professional groups including Andrew Robertson's Big Band, Divergence Jazz Orchestra, Geoff Power's Great Gatsby Orchestra and South Coast Big Band and other freelance ensembles.

    Outside of performing, she is also a passionate music educator and ensemble director in some of Sydney's leading high schools on the North Shore.
