Koryn Orcutt is a Seattle based songwriter, singer and multiple woodwind instrumentalist. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Multiple Woodwind Performance at the University of North Texas. She studied with oboe Professor Dr. Charles Veazey, clarinet professor Daryl Coad and bassoon Professor Kathleen Reynolds. During her studies, she performed on oboe, bassoon and clarinet with various chamber groups, orchestras and wind band ensembles. Koryn also recorded with the UNT Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra.
When she is not performing in the pit orchestras of the 5th Avenue Theatre and Village Theatre, she is contemplating her next song to write and sing. After learning how to play her first instrument, clarinet, in grade school, she got the itch to start writing music. She has continued to write songs for over 20 years and pulls inspiration from her personal experiences and the stories of others. From singer-songwriter, to pop, to R&B, Koryn loves genre hopping as a writer. She is currently working on her first solo EP. Her latest singles, "Enough" and "Strut" are currently repped in sync licensing catalogs for tv, film and ads.
