Biography
Kely Pinheiro is a classically trained cellist hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who defies norms. Her musical journey began in a family of music lovers, igniting her passion for the cello from an early age. Yearning to break free from traditional confines, Kely's exploration led her to join Rio's Camerata Laranjeiras string orchestra in 2013. There, she delved into a medley of genres - folk, pop, rock, and Brazilian music - crafting a unique style that melds elements for a fresh and captivating sound.
Awarded a full-tuition scholarship to Berklee College of Music in 2018, Kely immersed herself in innovation. Her talent shone when she supported Norwegian luminary Astrid S on her European tour, highlighting her adaptability. Graduating in 2022 with degrees in Cello Performance and Contemporary Writing & Production, she swiftly joined the Hadestown National Tour, solidifying her status as a sought-after performer.
At Berklee, Kely's artistic journey took an exhilarating turn, unearthing her passion for singing, songwriting, and producing, enabling her to explore musicality on multiple fronts. As a member of the Nebulous String Quartet, her collaboration expanded while showcasing exceptional cello skills. Kely's compositions blend relatable lyrics in Portuguese and English, reaching a global audience.
