Biography
Kaitlin Gimm is a versatile percussionist who has been playing for over 22 years. As an educator, she has been the percussion caption head for various high schools and taught at the high level of Drum Corps International. Her passion for performance and teaching led her to pursue a BA in Music Education and Performance from Western Illinois University. She marched in the front ensemble for the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps in 2011 and thrives in an orchestral percussion setting and in musical theatre. She is a retired United States Marine Corps musician, where she served as staff percussion arranger, featured soloist, and percussion section leader from 2016 - 2021. She is currently a percussionist for the Fredericksburg Symphony Orchestra and performs regularly as a drummer/percussionist for the Riverside Center for the Performing Arts. Her 90's cover band, the Waney Edges, performs regularly in downtown Fredericksburg, VA and the surrounding area. Her expertise lies in orchestral percussion, musical theatre, and rudimental drumming.
