Biography

Julie is a New York City based trombonist performing musical theater, chamber music, commercial, new music and orchestral genres. Known for her innovative spirit and versatile performance, Julie can be heard performing regularly with Brass Queens and Brass By the Slice. She has performed in multiple Broadway and Off-Broadway pits and held one of the lead trombone chairs in the 2021 Radio City Christmas Spectacular Orchestra.

Julie is an active sub on Broadway and feels most alive when making music to help develop and support a story. You can add a lot with a plunger "wah"! She has performed numerous shows including her favorites Newsies, Other World, The Drowsy Chaperone, and Cabaret. She held one of the lead trombone chairs for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular Orchestra in 2021. This past summer, she was a part of the Williamstown Theater Festival's production of "Most Happy in Concert" performing a "A sweeping, seamless and intricately layered score."-NY Times alongside Tina Fabrique, Mary Testa and many other world class actresses. You can currently catch Julie performing in the East Village for the New York Theatre Workshop's production of Merrily We Roll Along starring Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez.

Julie performs regularly in a chamber setting throughout NYC. She most recently performed at the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival and the Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts in the summer of 2022. For Julie, playing in a chamber music setting creates some of the most artistically rewarding performances. She has especially felt this performing with TILT Brass, NOVUS NY, Patriot Brass, Press Start, Brass in the Bandshell, and subtle cheetah brass quintet.

As an orchestral musician, Julie has performed with the Hudson Chorale, the Orchestra Now, and the Montclair Orchestra; and has performed at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center. Most recently she performed in Teatro Grantacielo's production of Romeo and Juliet at Battery Park as well as in "Hollywood in the Hills" at the Phoenicia Festival.
