Julia Thornton
Biography
Julia Thornton is a music director, conductor, pianist, vocal coach, and music consultant based in Seattle (US) and Edinburgh (UK). She is currently pursuing her MSc in Performance Psychology at the University of Edinburgh.
Julia regularly works with Seattle’s The 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Village Theatre, and St. Paul’s The Ordway Center for Performing Arts in a variety of roles including music director and music supervisor, conductor, pianist and pit musician. Her work on the Ordway Cabaret “Back to Before” received a BroadwayWorld nomination in 2019 and in 2015 she music directed the Gregory Awards Best Musical Into the Woods.
Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon in anthropology and music. In addition to her musical theatre endeavors and psychology study, she enjoys listening to and playing all kinds of music, spending time on her parent's farm, and eating oysters.
