Biography

Johanna Telander is a Finnish-American composer, writer and performer best known for her debut work, Kalevala, the musical. (book, music, lyrics). Kalevala The Musical’s concept album has earned wide international acclaim, having been listened to in over 88 countries and gained thousands of fans in and outside of theatre communities . Other mentionable career highlights include her performance with Residente and Bad Bunny on the “Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” as well as appearances on television shows such as 30Rock and White Collar. She is currently developing Watcher in the Woods, a New Musical (music) together with Douglas Thompson (book, lyrics.) as well as another original musical work, yet under wraps. In addition to her creative pursuits, Johanna is a hands-on mom, a nature enthusiast and an active supporter of education in her community.
