Jessie Bittner
She/Her
Biography
Jessie is a singer, actor, musician, educator, and songwriter based in NYC, originally from Appleton, WI. She is a proud alumni of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where she studied Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre, under the tutelage of Jane Dutton and Ray Fellman.
Jessie identifies as a multi-hyphenate artist with experience in theatre, opera, music directing, session musician work, vocal improvisation, choral settings, music education, and training in a variety of instruments. She continues to intersect her work with her advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community, disability awareness, and body neutrality.
She fiddles and adds harmony in a folk-rock band fronted by her friend and colleague, Grace Leckey, frequenting venues in NYC. The duo recently finished touring Grace’s sophomore album, Hell Gate, a tribute to Astoria, Queens.
Jessie released her debut single “Song for Janet,” a dedication to her violin teacher of a decade. She also offers private voice, violin, piano, and songwriting lessons, working one-on-one with students to provide accessible arts education.
She is currently on tour with Hadestown, as Violinist and Assistant Music Director/Conductor cover.
