Jessie Bittner

Jessie Bittner

She/Her

Biography

Jessie Bittner (she/her) is a singer, actor, multi-instrumentalist, educator, and songwriter based in NYC, originally from Appleton, WI. She began studying violin at age four, gradually expanded her studies to include piano, French horn, and ultimately focussed on voice and acting. Jessie is a proud alumni of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where she studied Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre with Jane Dutton and Ray Fellman.

She considers herself a multi-hyphenate artist with experience in theatre, opera, choral work, music directing, and training in a variety of instruments. Some recent performance credits include The Light in the Piazza (Margaret), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), Spring Awakening (Anna/Frau Bergmann), and The Magic Flute (Second Lady). She was also a recent finalist of the American Pops Orchestra’s Next Generation Vocal Competition at Lincoln Center.

In addition to writing her own music, Jessie plays fiddle and sings backing vocals in a folk-rock band, frequenting venues in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Jessie is creating avenues to intersect her art with her advocacy for mental health awareness and body neutrality. She offers private voice, violin, and piano lessons, working one-on-one with students to provide accessible arts education.
