Jackie Coleman
Biography
Born in Indiana, trumpeter and electric bassist Jackie Coleman is well trained in a wide variety of musical styles. After receiving a Bachelors degree from Indiana University and Masters degrees from both USC and NYU, she decided to pursue music in New York and work full-time as a freelance musician.
Some people she has worked with include artists such as Solange, Leon Bridges, Wu-tang Clan, Bright Eyes, Strings N Skins, Flor de Toloache, Miguel, Grupo Rebolu, Holly Miranda, and Zola Jesus. Through both the Black Girls Rock Band & The Selena for Sanctuary bands she has had the opportunity to perform with artists such as Kali Uchis, Mon Leferte, Helado Negro, Cuco, Chris Perez, H.E.R, Fantasia, Ledisi, Jazmine Sullivan, and Yolanda Adams. In 2017 she won a Latin Grammy with Flor de Toloache for their album "Las Caras Lindas."
She also recently just completed playing for the Off Broadway Musical Production of !Americano!
