Gianna Cheung

Biography

Gianna Cheung is a Chinese-Australian musical director, musician and performer. She has been involved in the musical world since the tender age of 3 and has since built a diverse and colourful career in both classical music and musical theatre. Gianna currently holds AMusA diplomas in both piano (2014) and flute (2015) and is a seasoned soloist and accomplished ensemble musician, having performed with over 36 ensembles and orchestras throughout her career including the Royal Concertgebouw, London Symphony and Australian Opera and Ballet orchestras.

Gianna has also performed in numerous musicals over the years, both on the stage and in the pit, and recently graduated from the Australian Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music - Music Theatre. With her broad pool of musical experience, Gianna is making her mark as a music director, repetiteur, music copyist and performer in the industry. Her recent credits include Theory of Relativity (Whimsical Productions) - Music Director, Qween Lear (The Adam Lowe Group) - Assistant Music Director and Music Copyist, The Lovers (Bell Shakespeare) - Music Copyist, WaterFall (The Philharmonic Inc.) - Music Supervisor and Wørk of Art (Little Triangle) - Repetiteur and Show Pianist. She is passionate about sharing her deep love and respect for music with others and encouraging them to forge their own path as performers and artists.
