Erik Wakar

Biography

I am a New York-based music director and pianist. I grew up in South-East Michigan, where I started acting, singing, and dancing as a kid, transitioning gradually into MT piano, then conducting, then music directing over the last 10 years.

I am an alumna from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, with a degree in piano performance. I am a skilled pianist with a long background in collaboration, known for my flexibility and grace working with wide varieties of professional contexts, art styles, and creators

I have a passion for continued learning and exploration. My attention recently has been set towards developing my musicianship through studying jazz, arranging for small bands, and using hardware and software synths for sound design.
