Emma Kroll

Biography

Emma is a passionate artist and multi-instrumentalist from Sarah Lawrence College. She studied drums and percussion with Matt Wilson, and blues/jazz music performance with Glenn Alexander. Emma has academic experience in a wide range of music fields, including live performance, recording, sound art, scoring, electronic music, and ethnomusicology.

Emma's performance experience ranges from musical theatre to funk, blues, rock, jazz, folk, and electronic music. Most recently she played drums for Wouldn't It Be Nice (2024) at Chelsea Table + Stage, drums/percussion for the Off-Broadway run of The Trouble With Dead Boyfriends (2023) at the Player’s Theatre, and the Cast Recording of Grace and the Ghost. She has also played drums/percussion for Grace and the Ghost (2023) at 54 Below, Face the Music (2022, 2023) at the Laurie Beechman Theatre and Rockwood Music Hall, new song cycle Open, Stay (2022) at 54 Below, and staged concept album Glass Town (2022) at The Tank, Culture Lab, and Pete’s Candy Store. She has played in regional productions of Be More Chill (2024), Head Over Heels (2020), Mary Poppins (2018), Damn Yankees (2017), on drum set, auxiliary percussion, and flute. Emma has been performing in local concerts and events and recording with local groups for almost ten years. Her roots are in rock and blues music, and she also has played Irish music as a competitive bodhrán player.
