Emma graduated from Butler University in 2019 with her Masters in Percussion Performance. She also completed her Bachelor's degree at Butler before choosing to stay. During her time at Butler, Emma had the opportunity to perform with the Butler Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra, serving as the principal percussionist for her last two years. Eventually, she started to focus more on playing hand drums and world percussion, specifically Latin percussion. This love came from playing for the modern dance classes at Butler.
After graduating, she once again stayed at Butler, this time as a staff member working for the Butler Dance department. She has accompanied Susan McGuire, Ramon Flowers, and Fernando Carrillo in the styles of Graham, Cunningham, and Horton. Emma is also an active member of the Butler Ballet orchestra having performed in the pit of many major ballets including, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. When not working with the Butler Ballet, she is actively performing around the city and state with the Cathedral High School Choirs as well as the Circle City Bucket Drummers.
While performing is her biggest passion, Emma is also a proud member of the faculty at Butler University teaching the World Drumming class and private lessons. In addition to teaching at the college level, she is an active percussion teacher in the Indy area having taught private lessons in drums and piano to students of all ages as well as being the front ensemble director at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.
