Biography

Emily Simonian is a songwriter, recording artist, published author, and musical theatre composer, lyricist, and librettist. She earned a merit scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music and later completed her B.F.A. in Contemporary Music at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. In 2024, she returned to Berklee to complete additional online coursework in songwriting and basic music production—further sharpening her skills as a writer for other artists and expanding her technical fluency in the evolving landscape of music creation.

Musical Theatre
Emily’s original musical When Two of Us Meet, inspired by her Armenian ancestors’ emigration to America in the early 20th century, has been hailed by early reviewers as “a Broadway-worthy stage production.” The two-act musical was awarded the Laurel Karabian Fund for the Arts Grant from the Armenian International Women’s Association and received a concert reading in New York City in Spring 2025. That same season, the Embassy of Armenia partnered with Emily to host a private concert presentation in Washington, D.C. The musical was also named a top 12 finalist for the 2025 Florida Festival of New Musicals and a top 10 finalist for the 2025 Colorado New Musical Project. Her work in musical theatre has been featured in numerous new works cabarets and has attracted multiple visionary sponsors who believe in the power and promise of her voice as a composer and lyricist.
