Ella M. Fredrickson
Biography
Ella M. Fredrickson has been "connecting the dots" in music in St. Petersburg, Florida for decades. After many seasons serving up the notes backstage as an orchestra librarian, she recently started her own free lance business and is the Music Concierge of Tropical Zone Music. Ella is passionate about discovering new ways to create, collaborate, and explore artistic excellence for live performances. Her background as a professional musician (Violoncello) fuels her imagination for the unexpected (playing theremin!) and she has curated some pretty interesting projects on her journey to the here and now. Some memorable partnerships were curating a "Frank Zappa Symposium" with the Dali Museum; "An Intimate Collaboration" series with The Studio@620; music editing and preparation for "CSI: Beethoven" with Symphonic Stage Shows and being the music administrator for "Too Hot To Handel: The Gospel Messiah" for Marin Alsop and Too Hot, LLC. - just to name a few. She was invited to be an adjudicator for the Music Publishers Association's (MPA) annual "Paul Revere Awards" from 2021-2024.
Ella enjoys being a part of her local arts community and looks forward to all the possibilities of forming new partnerships with artists, musicians, composers and poets, and is intent on making music matter in the greater Tampa Bay area and beyond. Her new motto is: "Connecting the dots in your music," as she dreams about ways to bridge the gap between classical and contemporary music in the 21st century.
Ella Fredrickson was named as one of the recipients of the 2024 Palladium Creative Fellows, and is curating the debut concert of the Indo-jazz Quintet Temporal Taal Collective, presenting "Spice and Sound" An Immersive Musical Experience on Sept. 18, 2025.
Ella works with the Bellingham Festival of Music in Bellingham, WA. She is an Honorary Member and Past-President of MOLA: An Association of Performance Librarians, Alumna of University of Miami (Coral Gables) Frost School of Music, and is a member of the AFM Local 427-721
